Here is a list of some of our favorite creative people. If you want to see some beautiful work and maybe pick up an item or two for your own collections, take a look!
Veragano. Rima McDonald is the founder and chief designer for Veragano. She designs the shoes here in the U.S. and has them hand-made in a traditional, small, artisanal factory in Italy. After years in research and development, Veragano shoes are perfect for the professional woman who wants stylish heels that don't hurt her feet or back. After all, it's hard to think on your feet if your feet are killing you.
Anne-Joelle Designs. Ann-Joelle Galley is an artist, first and foremost. Her works have been published internationally, and are on display in numerous galleries. She converts these exquisite designs into patterns and these are printed in France on the finest silk fabrics. Each scarf, dress, or top is, itself, a unique artwork.
Work in Process. Simple, understated elegance in clothing that is easy to wear and as tough as you are is the halmark, here. Meghan Hogrefe, a Harvard educated surf lover got tired of clothes that got in the way of her active lifestyle so she designed a line that looks great, is easy to wear, and does need to treated like "Taffeta, darling." (If you don't get this allusion, you need to watch Young Frankenstein and seriously enlarge your cultural education.) Work in Process is great idea well executed.
